Groundsure are pleased to announce we have won investment from Innovate UK for the national development of a brownfield decision support tool, building on the award-winning research of the British Geological Survey.

This project will enable land purchasers, their legal team, developers and consultants to de-risk their acquisitions and provide up-front knowledge of issues and costs relating to brownfield redevelopment at the earliest possible stage in the process.

Innovate UK, as part of UK Research and Innovation, is investing up to £191 million to fund single and collaborative research and development projects as part of the Sustainable Innovation Fund over the next two years. The aim of these competitions is to help all sectors of the UK rebuild after the effects of COVID-19.

The Sustainable Innovation Fund is funding 1,103 projects, 1189 UK businesses and currently totalling over £130 million in support across the UK.

Innovate UK Executive Chair Dr Ian Campbell said:

“In these difficult times we have seen the best of British business innovation. The pandemic is not just a health emergency but one that impacts society and the economy.

“Groundsure's project, along with every initiative Innovate UK has supported through this fund, is an important step forward in driving sustainable economic development. Each one is also helping to realise the ambitions of hard-working people.

Become a member of the working group...

We are looking to bring together a working group of environmental consultants and property professionals whose input into the creation of the tool will help us to build a product that will be of great benefit to your industry. We want to know how a tool of this nature might enhance your workflow and what we can do to ensure that's the case. If you are interested in being part of this working group and/or are an environmental consultant working within any size of consultancy on typical Brownfield sites then please email louise.sadiford@groundsure.com to be part of this exciting development as it progresses.
