The Infrastructure Show

Innovation in infrastructure is today’s major construction issue. With the importance of continual modernisation in mind, GroundSure is pleased to support the creation of The Infrastructure Show. The exhibition will take place from 18-20 October 2010 in Birmingham and will offer the civil engineering and environmental community a networking event and platform to discuss and debate issues of the day.

The Infrastructure Show will run alongside the Built Environment Solutions and Technologies (BEST) show and will be co-located with Interbuild Onsite and Glassex, enabling every element of the modern built environment and construction industry to be brought together in one place.

The show will focus on the major projects which drive the sector, in partnership with some of those who are instrumental in overseeing delivery and operation of these, including BAA.

The key theme running through The Infrastructure Show is delivering More for Less, an issue prevalent in today’s construction community. The show will provide unique insight and challenging debate within four conference areas. These areas are focused around specific sectors, looking at:

roads
rail
energy
airport construction

For the environmentally conscious, GroundSure will also be hosting Environmental Insight consisting of seminars and exhibition space dedicated to issues around brownfield regeneration, climate change and flood risk among others.

The Infrastructure Show promises to combine the key technical, business and political issues that make this one of the most fascinating sectors of the built environment.

Running alongside The Infrastructure Show is BEST. BEST will span a wide range of market sectors including education, private housing, affordable housing, retail, community and amenity, health, industrial and offices showcasing construction excellence across the entire built environment.

A low carbon future will be a key focus at the event, where the Low Carbon World and Retrofit Challenge areas will showcase best practice and product solutions to issues facing all sectors today. Building on the Carbon Reduction Commitment and the Government’s Warm Homes, Greener Homes report the retrofit challenge embraces the issue of ‘greening’ existing buildings and infrastructure for future generations.
