Historical Mapping
GroundSure is a Premier Partner of the Ordnance Survey and retains the highest quality historical Ordnance Survey mapping archive in the UK. Our map archive has been developed and compiled by utilising the most comprehensive map collections available from Trinity College, Dublin and The Ordnance Survey, Southampton.
Our map archive has been compiled using the latest technology to geo-rectify maps and edge match adjacent sheets. This process ensures we reduce the number of map sheets delivered to the client where large portions are blank and a single year's mapping is presented in one corner. We present our historical maps linking similarly dated sheets and providing full reference to dates of survey, issue, revision, re-levelling and copyright.
Maps from 1840 through to the present day provide detailed insight into historical land uses enabling thorough understanding of contaminated land risks and associated matters.
GroundSure's historical mapping archive has been scanned at 508 dpi in grey scale and colour representing unparalleled standards of quality and detail. The collection contains Ordnance Survey National Grid, County Series and Historical Town Plans.
