Flood Data

Flood risk is an increasingly concerning area of property risk assessment. Global warming and more extreme weather patterns combined with a legacy of town planning that was not focused on flood risk issues, has resulted in a position where a significant amount of property is at potential risk of flooding in the UK.

Environmental Consultants require fast and accurate data in order to provide their clients with expert advice on flood risk perils and in particular with regard to development schemes requiring formal flood risk assessment under Planning Policy Statement 25 Development and Flood Risk.

Our data is provided in clear and concise format with supporting maps for each and every generic set of data to be presented against. Logical summary tables at the beginning of our reports enable fast and simple access to relevant data.

GrounSure FloodInsight includes:

  • Coastal and fluvial flood data from the Environment Agency
  • Details of flood defences and areas benefiting from flood defences from the Environment Agency
  • NaFRA 2008 data from the Environment Agency
  • Historical flood event data from the Environment Agency
  • Groundwater flood risk information from the British Geological Survey
  • Geological indicators of historical flood events from the British Geological Survey
  • Pluvial (surface water) flood risk information from JBA Consulting
